Accelerating Marin County’s Clean Energy Future

We are a community organization supporting initiatives that help Marin achieve its electrification goals.

Our Mission

The Marin Electrification Council is a community-based, citizen-led organization accelerating Marin County’s transition of vehicles and buildings away from use of fossil fuels. We promote local policies and actions that create a fair and just marketplace for electrification solutions—with the aim of reducing the greenhouse gas emissions that are driving climate change, improving air quality, and enhancing public safety throughout Marin County.

Who We Are

Our coalition is comprised of more than 70 members across all twelve Marin jurisdictions, including lawyers, engineers, economists, scientists, writers, entrepreneurs, climate commissioners, and electrification experts. We monitor local, state, and regional policies and advocate for concrete steps Marin cities and towns can take on the path to electrification. We translate citizen concerns about climate change into actionable recommendations for local leaders—and we champion collaboration between government officials, developers and citizens to meet our shared goals.

Electric Vehicle Adoption

We support the expansion of widely accessible EV charging infrastructure, advocate for municipal fleet electrification, and conduct community outreach about EVs to accelerate the transition to electric transportation.

Building Electrification

We promote the shift from gas to electric appliances in homes and buildings, especially for space and water heating, support green building codes, and help residents know where access rebates and financing programs.

Policy & Advocacy

We work with local jurisdictions to develop and implement climate action plans, building electrification roadmaps, and EV acceleration strategies that make sustainable choices easier for everyone.

Community Education

We facilitate access to available rebates, tax credits, and programs, with special attention to supporting underserved communities and ensuring equitable access.
